Star Citizen · Orgs & mining ops
Run your org's
mining ops properly.
Most Star Citizen orgs run their mining ops out of a Discord thread and a shared spreadsheet that one person maintains and everyone else ignores. Motherlode gives the org a real board instead — a live session your crew joins with a code, refinery work orders with timers, a shared stockpile with approvals, payout splits at the end, and an org leaderboard to argue about. Free, and built by people who mine.

The org itself
Create an org, get everyone into it, and decide who is allowed to touch what.
Name it, take a short name of two to ten letters, and the org has somewhere to run its mining ops. The short name is what tags your handle in sessions, so use the one your org already goes by.
Send an invite link, or let people find the org by short name and request to join. An admin approves, so nobody lands in the roster by accident.
Member, stockpile manager, and admin. The people running logistics get the access they need to move materials, and everyone else can follow the ops without being able to empty the stockpile.
Set a primary org and your name shows in sessions as [ORG] Handle, so a mixed run makes it obvious who flies for whom.
Shared stockpile
One pooled record of what the org is holding, instead of five people guessing in a Discord thread.
Everything the org holds in one table — ore, refined material, salvage, and crafting components — with quantities in SCU and a value against current prices.
A member pushes a stack out of personal inventory and into the org. It arrives as a request, not as a silent change to the numbers.
Pulling material back out is a request too. A stockpile manager signs off before anything moves, so the ledger only changes when a person agreed to it.
Every deposit and withdrawal is recorded with who, what, and when. When someone asks where 400 SCU of quantainium went, there is an answer.
Running the ops
A mining op is a session. Everyone on it sees the same board, live, from whatever device they have to hand.
Rocks, work orders, refinery timers, and running earnings update in real time for every member on the op. Log something from your phone mid-run and the rest of the crew sees it immediately.
Drop the code in your org Discord and the crew is on the board. No ambiguous characters, so it survives being read out over comms.
Per-ore quantity and quality, live yield and fee across every refining method, and a countdown per batch. Mining and salvage orders run through the same flow.
Opt in and get pinged when a batch finishes, instead of everyone remembering to check back between ops.
Settle at the end of the op — equal, role-weighted, or custom cuts — and get a payout sheet you can paste straight into the org channel.
Org standings
What the org has actually done, tracked rather than guessed at.
Orgs ranked on rocks cracked and aUEC earned through Motherlode, kept separate from individual rankings.
Totals roll up from the ops your members log, so the number on the board is the number the org earned.
See who has been putting material into the stockpile and who has been on the ops, without anyone maintaining a spreadsheet.
The tools underneath
Open to anyone, org or not, without an account.
Community-maintained prices at every terminal, with a stale flag on anything older than a week so you know how far to trust a number when you are pricing an op.
Ship, lasers, modules — charge window, extraction rate, and how the stack handles resistance and instability.
Work out how much charge headroom a rock gives you before it fractures.
Ores, locations and rock types, refinery methods and bonuses, lasers, modules, gadgets, and salvage materials.
Reference data as JSON with no auth, plus an OAuth flow if your org runs a Discord bot that wants to read a member's inventory or org memberships.
Setting your org up
Roughly five minutes from a cold start to an op your whole org can join.
- 01Sign in
Discord, Google, or email. Most orgs already live on Discord, so that is usually the one-click route.
- 02Create the org
Name and short name. Set it as your primary org so your handle carries the tag in every session.
- 03Pull your members in
Share the invite link in your org channel, or have people search the short name and request to join.
- 04Hand out roles
Promote whoever runs logistics to stockpile manager so deposits and withdrawals are not stuck behind one admin.
- 05Run an op
Start a session, share the join code, log rocks and work orders as they happen, and let the timers run.
- 06Settle and stockpile
Split the payout at the end, and deposit whatever the org is keeping into the shared stockpile.
Questions about orgs & ops
What is a Star Citizen org?
An org is a player-run organization in Star Citizen — a guild, in the language of most other games. Orgs are created on the RSI website and tend to run day to day on Discord. Motherlode does not replace your RSI org page; it gives the org somewhere to actually run its mining and salvage ops, hold a shared stockpile, and settle payouts.
What are mining ops?
A mining op is an organized run: a group heads out together to a moon or belt, scans and cracks rocks, hauls the ore to a refinery, and splits the take afterwards. Motherlode gives an op a live shared board so everyone sees the rocks logged, the work orders processing, the refinery timers running, and what the run has earned so far.
How do I run mining ops for my org?
Create the org, get your members in, then start a session for each run and share its six-character join code in your org Discord. Everyone on the session sees the same board in real time. At the end, split the payout by role or as an even cut, and deposit whatever the org keeps into the shared stockpile.
Can my org track a shared stockpile?
Yes. The org stockpile is one pooled record of the ore, refined material, salvage, and components the org is holding, valued against current prices. Members request deposits and withdrawals and a stockpile manager approves them, so the numbers only move when someone signs off, and every transfer is logged.
Who can move materials in and out of the org stockpile?
Any member can request a deposit or a withdrawal, but only a stockpile manager or an admin can approve one. Nothing changes in the stockpile at request time — it changes when the approval happens.
Does it work for salvage ops as well as mining ops?
Yes. Salvage work orders, salvage materials, and ship hull values run through the same flow as mining, and session earnings track mining and salvage separately so you can see which side of the op paid.
Is there an org leaderboard?
Yes. Orgs are ranked on rocks cracked and aUEC earned through Motherlode, separate from individual rankings. The totals come from the ops your members log, so it reflects what the org actually did.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Org tools, sessions, stockpiles, and payout splits are all free, and the calculators, price tables, and reference data work without an account at all.
Can I be in more than one org?
You can be a member of as many orgs as you like, and you set one of them as your primary org — that is the tag shown next to your handle in sessions. You can own at most one org yourself.
Is Motherlode affiliated with Cloud Imperium Games?
No. Motherlode is an unofficial fan project by Cryon Dynamics. It is not made, endorsed, or reviewed by Cloud Imperium Games or Roberts Space Industries.

Create the org, drop the invite in your Discord, and run the next op on a board everyone can see. If something is missing for the way your org works, come and say so — we are in the Motherlode Discord and we do read it.
